These super-cute goody boxes were fun to make and so inexpensive!  So simple, but just what is needed for a hostess or small thank-you gift.  I made these for ladies in my church group, and I came out spending around $2.50 for each. Below is a list of ingredients in this delicious recipe!

Supplies Used  (Be creative...use what you like!)
  • Paper craft boxes - $5.99 for 12 (Michael's)
  • Adorable fall ribbon - a whopping $.12 per box (this was ribbon on the clearance aisle at Michael's)!
  • Tiny 1.4-oz jars of marmelade and jam - $.83 each (Marshall's)
  • Vanilla Pumpkin sachets (that smell divine!) -- $3.99 for 12 (from a local discount store)
  • Pumpkin tealights - $4.99 for 12 (from a local discount store)
  • Bag of silk fall leaves - $1.00 (Dollar Tree)
  • Raffia filling - $1.00 (Dollar Tree)
  • Hershey Milk Chocolate Nuggets w/almonds- $.23 per box (3 nuggets each box)
  • Russell Stover Caramels - $.16 per box (two candies each box)
  • Sharp Scissors with sharply pointed end

Directions:
  1. Crease boxes along the fold lines (or put together if boxes come disassembled and flat)
  2. Fill boxes (I always like to include something that is highly scented so the aroma is smelled immediately when the box is opened)
  3. Using scissors, punch holes in silk leaves and thread a one-foot length of ribbon through the hole
  4. Pull boxes together and run one end of the ribbon under the handle so that the leaf hangs on the front side of the box
  5. Tie in a knot or a bow, securing box handle

I am always on the hunt for cute containers for goody boxes. You never know when you might need to fill one in a hurry for a quick hostess gift, especially during the holidays. Great ideas are craft paper containers like the ones used in the above project, craft paper bags or plain white bags (which you can find for a song) tied with raffia or twine, Chinese takeout boxes (available at Michael's in all colors), tin buckets (either galvanized or painted).  The choices are endless!  Just keep your eyes peeled for deals on containers , cute ribbon and standard fillers like tissue paper and craft paper shreds, and you'll never be caught without the fixin's for an adorable goody box!
