PictureWelcome Home!
Well, it's techinically not a new front door, but an old door with new paint!

Just wanted to show you how pretty an older door can look with new paint, and it's literally pennies on the dollar for a can of paint over the cost of a new door. And I've painted two front doors with a 29.5-oz can, with still some left over!  Plus, it's the single most easy way to bring freshness to the front of your house and add to the curb appeal!

Your front door says a lot about you!  If you want to make a good impression for visitors to your home, it's essential to have a welcoming entrance.

On this flipper house we purchased, the previous owners were an elderly couple who had changed out the original door for one with more privacy. We brought back the original door because we thought it was much prettier with the windows.  We used all the original hardware, but new hardware would dress it up even more!

Now, I know there are those of you out there who think a black door looks best, but bah-humbug on black doors!!  If you insist on a black door, you better hang something pretty on it to make it welcoming.  Plain black doors are not welcoming on their own!

Directions for Painting an Exterior Front Door...It's as Easy as 1-2-3!
  • Make sure the door is clean, clean, clean!
  • Choose a paint that is suitable for the material your door is made of (i.e., metal, wood, etc.)
  • Tape off all hardware and windows (if applicable) using a good quality painter's tape
  • Prime first, or choose paint with a built-in primer
  • Using a two to three-inch brush, apply paint making smooth and steady strokes.  Make sure you have enough paint on your brush, and be sure to let the first coat dry according to manufacturer's recommendations, then apply a second coat if needed.
  • Let dry completely and remove painter's tape...Your New Beautiful Door!

Now, that was so easy, wasn't it?
