![]() Don't get rid of that old bench, chair, table! Paint it! You know that's my #1 choice for updating furniture that you might overwise think needs to go to the furniture graveyard. I've had this little bench for a long time and it's been sitting outside my back door deteriorating for quite some time. Unfortunately, I was so excited about giving this little guy new life that I failed to take a photo of the "before." But trust me, it was very, very weathered. So weathered in fact that it was hard to remember what color the original paint was (I think it was dark green). I decided to use Valspar Gloss Peacock Blue (#15304), available at Lowe's (spray paint of course; I'm a spray paint junky!). It's the "outdoor color" anti-rust formula. Be sure and clean your piece well to ensure it's free of any dust and dirt. And if it has peeling paint, scrape that off using a wire brush. This anti-rust formula is perfect for pieces that stay outdoors. I think my little red schoohouse really pops against the peacock blue! Add a pretty mum and you have a great fall greeting at your door. I love it!
