Sometimes it's really hard to journal. We as women enjoy writing down our thoughts. We enjoy going back and reading our thoughts later and reflecting. Journaling keeps a record of things we might never remember if we don't write them down. But for those whose day simply does not allow for lengthy journaling, might I suggest a one-sentence journal? This is a journal where you write down just one sentence for the day. It might be something you desire to happen that day. It might be something you're thankful for. It might even be something about which you're upset, and writing it down helps you to put it behind you and move on with your day. Everyone has time for a one-sentence journal!

![]() Taking even five minutes to sit quietly and listen will be a boost to your day. What do you hear? The birds singing...a car going down the road...a train in the distance? Sometimes we are so busy talking, moving, and making noise that we do not hear the silence that is so vital to our wellbeing. Silence, or the absence of noise, pushes our reset button. What are you hearing? Head chatter, the noise of yesterday's regrets? Focus on today and today only and see what the day holds through the quietening of your mind. ![]() Many times it's words that inspire us and stimulate our hearts to move forward with something or just have a great day. When I see a moving quote or am reminded of one, I like to write it down so I can focus on it. Whether it's a famous poet, a favorite scripture, or your own personal mantra for your life, let great words of truth and encouragement put your day into focus. I ran across the quote to the left recently in a magazine and I just love it! Not sure I had read this one before from Walt Whitman, but it totally inspires me. Keep your face towards the sun! |
